UB publishes Staff Learning and Teaching Guide

15 December 2005

In announcing the launch of the draft Learning and Teaching Information Resources Guide for academic staff the University of Ballarat Vice Chancellor made the following comments in his update to staff on 14 December 2005:

'The draft Learning and Teaching Information Resources Guide for staff has been updated and made available on our intranet.

The aim of the Guide is to assist academics to enhance their achievements in Learning and Teaching - and most importantly, to assist them in providing all students at the University of Ballarat with an educational experience that is second-to-none nationally.

The Guide, in this web-based format, covers topics from Advanced Standing through to Whistleblowers Protection. Every aspect of the mainstream of academic life in relation to Learning and Teaching is covered in it.

I would like to thank Professor Wayne Robinson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Research), for initiating the construction of the guide.

Particular thanks also should go to Dr Bernard O'Meara, Chair, Curriculum Committee (HE), for leading the project, and also to Leeanne Pitman, Senior Librarian; Annette Chappell, Senior Policy Advisor (Learning and Teaching); Sally Boyle, Executive Officer of the Secretariat, and the staff of the Centre for Electronic Commerce and Communications.

The Guide will prove to be an indispensable companion to Learning and Teaching at the University of Ballarat.

The Guide can be accessed via the Learning and Teaching website at www.ballarat.edu.au/learningandteaching.
