Young Australian Rural Network website launch

11 October 2006

The Young Australian Rural Network website was launched on 11 October 2006. The Hon. Peter McGauren MP, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry launched the new and improved YARN website at parliament house.

"It is a great way to keep in touch with rural Australia and other young rural Australians.”

The CECC content management suite has provided an excellent platform for the redevelopment. The website is managed by stakeholders in three different states highlighting the advantages of the distributed web-based toolset provided by CECC. The website is designed to not only promote young people in rural industries but to encourage interaction with industry and government. This is facilitated via the following interactive tools.

  • Online discussion boards
  • Databases of Opportunities for training, grants and awards
  • News and Events Calendar
  • Website builder for non-profit groups
  • Members area to facilitate communication of the National Council of Young Farmers

The website also features graphic design by Colourfield Creative, a regular project partner with CECC.

You can visit the YARN website at www.yarn.gov.au.
