CeRDI undertakes research in the application of information technologies to transform practice in its partner organisations and more broadly.

CeRDI’s research is applied in areas including agriculture, the natural environment, health and wellbeing and hazards planning and resilience. Underpinning CeRDI’s research are the three pillars of data discoveries, innovations in technologies and longitudinal societal impact research.

Industry-funded soil science PhD opportunity

FedUni PhD Scholarship - Southern Farming Systems: Lime Soil Acidity

Scholarship value: $27,596 (tax free) per annum for a period of 3 years.

Eligibility: We’re looking for someone who:
- is interested in making a difference in regional agriculture
- has good research, project management and communication skills
- has completed honours level or higher research in soil chemistry, geological or agricultural science
- is eligible to undertake a PhD at Federation University and is a permanent resident of Australia.

Location: Victorian campus of Federation University Australia at Ballarat

Conditions of Scholarships: This scholarships is for a period of three years. Applicants are required to of completed honours level or higher research in soil chemistry, geological or agricultural science. All applicants must be eligible to undertake a PhD at Federation University and is a permanent resident of Australia.

Exploring digital agriculture: discoveries in Australian grains trial data

Scholarship value: $27,596 per year stipend to support living costs (2019 rate) - 3 year duration

Eligibility: Honours 1 or equivalence. Domestic and permanent residents only.

Location: Victorian campus of Federation University Australia at Ballarat

Conditions of Scholarship: this scholarships is for a period of three years. Application is open to domestic and permanent residents only. Standard leave entitlements apply. This position and scholarship are full-time, with no possibility of being undertaken part-time during candidature. Students will be required to commit to a minimum of four days per week on campus and participate in occasional industry placement at key times during the term of their candidature.
