CeCC Programmer to attend Zend Conference

12 September 2007

Paul Feely (Programmer, CeCC) will attend the annual Zend/PHP Conference & Expo in San Francisco this October (8-11 October).  Zend are the industry leaders in PHP development, which underpins all CeCC applications.  Andrew MacLeod (Technical Manager) and Paul Feely are Certified Zend Engineers, two of only 43 Certified Engineers in Australia.

The conference will highlight new innovations as well as industry best practice related to PHP performance, security and development.  Following on from the conference an experimental prototype version of Docbook Manager 3.0 will be developed using this knowledge.

New features evaluated as being beneficial (or just "cool") will flow into future CeCC developments.

As well as new features that will obvious to the client, behind the scenes it is expected that knowledge gained from the conference will allow CeCC to maintain its high levels of performance, security, and efficiency as our client base expands.

What is PHP?

PHP, which stands for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor" is a widely-used Open Source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. Its syntax draws upon C, Java, and Perl, and is easy to learn. The main goal of the language is to allow web developers to write dynamically generated web pages quickly, but you can do much more with PHP. (Source: http://www.php.net)
