Enter Smart Justice

30 July 2010

A coalition of legal and community organisations, led by the Federation of Community Legal Centres, has come together to promote understanding of criminal justice policies.

Smart Justice seeks to enhance the safety of all Victorians by promoting understanding of criminal justice policies that are effective, evidence-based and human rights compliant. In short, Smart Justice is about community safety – the smart way.

CeCC has supported stakeholders by implementing a new ‘look and feel’ for the Smart Justice website, replacing the content management system which underpins the website and publishing the factsheets and other website content.

Smart Justice was launched on 27 May 2010 at the Law Institute of Victoria.  Speakers included Mukesh Haikerwal, former AMA President, Steve Stevens, LIV President, Vickie Roach, and Hugh de Kretser, Executive Officer, Federation of Community Legal Centres.

Smart Justice was made possible with funding support from the Victoria Law Foundation and the Reichstein Foundation. For more information see: www.smartjustice.org.au
