BCG Virtual Agronomy Project - 2004, 17th March

The Centre for Electronic Commerce has recently been successful in tendering for the Birchip Cropping Group 'Virtual Agronomy' project. This project will ensure that BCG members can access a continuous stream of critical information during all future growing seasons. This project represents an extension to the current functionality of the BCG website which was previously developed by CECC.

The 'Virtual Agronomy' application will support BCG in providing members with access to research trial data from sowing through to harvest. This information may improve farmer decisions at all critical stages and thus optimise chances of a successful crop.

Information will include video footage, audio data and other interactive elements. In addition at the end of each calendar year the information available through 'Virtual Agronomy' will be placed on CDROM and distributed to members.
